Bridging the leadership gap

Challenge

To ensure continued operational stability of a multi-national distribution company, with around 1,000 employees across 12 countries, during the gap between the outgoing and incoming CEO. We were required to energise employees through the transition period; review the governance structure, and assess the suitability of the company’s strategy. 

Solution

By executing a customer survey across all countries, we gathered insights into customers’ perceptions of the current strategy/position and an understanding of their future requirements. We engaged a specialist agency to create a clear road map for future brand positioning and underpin significant strategy development. Also, by enhancing the communication and engagement between employees, we connected multiple functions and countries. Finally, due to fast-tracking our review and implementing changes to the employee total compensation packages, we uplifted alignment with the company’s financial objectives.

 

Results

We managed to maintain the operational ‘status quo’ of the organisation while identifying the critical skills gaps that were obstructing progress.
